Buddy Brennan Managing Artistic Director and President


Buddy Brennan is the C.E.O and President of Working Reel Productions Inc. His dynamic leadership has driven Working Reel to become a well-recognized and sought after, production company.  Buddy has more than thirty years of experience in the Film and Entertainment Industry.

 

Buddy graduated, with honours, from the Masters level, ATVF (Advanced Television and Film) program at Sheridan College. His major courses of study included Directing Film, and Producing in the Global Market Place. His technical area of study was with the renowned Richard Leiterman, in the Camera and Lighting Master Class. Sheridan College (A.T.V.F.) awarded Buddy Brennan the Cinematography Award of Excellence for his achievements. He further expanded his technical expertise to include a certification in AVID, with Didier Kennel, (AVID is the standard editing format of the film industry).

 

Buddy has been the Artistic Managing Director of four theatres in Ontario; The Caprius Theatre, The Arboretum Theatre (University of Guelph), The Queen Elizabeth Dinner Theatre and most recently the Mohawk Dinner Theatre (Woodbine Entertainment Group’s Mohawk Racetrack and Casino)

 

Buddy has directed over seventy-five professional stage plays. He has developed for stage What am I Missing?, A Sense of Accomplishment, several improvised productions, a musical revue and many other live productions.

 

He is credited with shows he produced from conception through distribution such as Antique-Talk (television magazine), The Institute (film for festival release), Service: The Video (industrial educational), and Scios Deus.  His directing / producing credits include concept trailers, directors reels, and dozens of industrial, promotional, and training videos. 

 

As an educator in the entertainment industry, Buddy has been an instructor at The PoorAlexTheatre, The Improv Studio, The EtobicokeSchool of the Arts (Con-Ed), All-Star Drama, and The Working Actors Studio. Many of his students have continued as professionals in the business, while many other young students have gone on to study at prestigious theatre programs across the country.

 

Buddy has acted in thousands of live performances and in many disciplines. He has shared the stage with greats like Jack Duffy (Toronto), Dottie Brown (Kansas City), Pamela Belwood (Dynasty TV series, Los Angeles), and the five-time Emmy Award winner, Mr. Don Knotts.

 

In the film and television industry he has worked with Michael Richards ( of Seinfeld), Andy Dick ( of News Radio), and has been directed by the Academy Award winning director John Avildsen. With dozens of commercial credits (Tim Horton’s, Pepsi, Halls, Samsung, Ford, Buick, Dr Pepper, and many more...) he also adds award-winning actor to his name.

 

Buddy was the Director of Marketing for McGinnis and Assoc. During his years with McGinnis and Assoc., Buddy was responsible for the activities and success of thirty-five members of the sales force. He learned a great deal about the importance of motivating people and achieving goals as a team. He had unprecedented success across Canada and in the United States. His planning and organizational skills were honed and Buddy developed leadership skills that serve him well as a director and producer. 

 

With the same dedication and integrity he brings to his professional life, he also gives back to his community in many ways. Buddy developed a co-operative education program in performance and live theatre production, which lived successfully for eleven years. Its latest production performed by a select group of teenagers before 15,000 elementary school children, in over sixty locations throughout southern Ontario. The primary focus of the productions was asset building with an emphasis on anti-bullying.

 

Waterloo Region District Board of Education and the Waterloo District Catholic School Boards have participated in, and sponsored this program, including Buddy and his production company as a ‘partner in education’. He has mentored dozens of students throughout the course of this highly successful program.

 

In the entertainment industry Buddy has shown he is a creative and well-respected director with strong story telling skills. His vision and keen business sense make him a respected producer and director.

John Snowdon is the Senior Consultant &Director at Working Reel Prodtions Inc. John has over 50 years experience as an actor and director. In 1992, the Canadian Government, on behalf of the Queen, awarded the Commemorative Medal for John Snowdon’s significant contribution to Canada, through his work in theatre. He is a member in good standing of Canadian Actors Equity Association and Theatre Ontario. He has graced stages across Ontario as an actor. John has directed over 80 live productions. He has been the Artistic Director of 8 theatres in Ontario and he was a board member of ASTRO. As the Artistic Director of The Theatre Downstairs (TTD)he founded and built the Arboretum Dinner Theatre for the University of Guelph. He founded the Theatre On The Grand in Fergus. John is a respected and sought after Adjudicator, Play Polisher and Consultant.  He has worked on productions in Canada and England. John is a retired teacher and is currently the Senior Advisor and Director at Working Reel Productions.

Olivia Billeci joins Working Reel as a freelance producer. Olivia holds a B.Sc. in Mathematics from Wilfrid Laurier University. She continued her academic studies at the American Academy  of Dramatic Arts in New York City. She is an accomplished actress having appeared in several Working Reel Productions both at the University of Guelph Arboretum and at the Mohawk Racetrack and Casino. She has appeared in several Off-Off Broadway productions in New York City. She began her producer roles with Working Reel on Embodiment for Mark Ramitt and with the live stage play SEX DRUGS AND THE GOSPEL SINGER by John Snowdon and Buddy Brennan. Olivia's decade of theatre experience and her strong educational credentials serve her well as a producer and creative consultant with Working Reel.

Nick Ferguson is part of the Working Reel team. He
is a Post-Production Supervisor and Editor. Having just completed editing demo-reels for some of our actors and cutting an episode of Saintly Lives (The Life of St Clement) he is now a part of our team. 

Having gradutated from Conestoga College's Broadcast Television he also has a wealth of experience through Rogers Television and other productions. He has created new demo reels for Working Reel and is working on other projects we have in process as well.

Nick will be our first choice for actors demos and is a welcome part of out team as he is dedicated to first-quality work.

He is a life long Cambridge resident.

Monica Puri worked with Working Reel Productions Inc. from Oct 2015 through August 2016. Monica earned her undergrad degree from HNB Garhwal University in India (Bachelors of Commerce) and she earned her  post-grad degree at Graphic Era University (Master of Business - Human Resources). She continued her education at George Brown College in Toronto earning a Post-Grad Certificate in Human Resources.

Although now based in Toronto, she has left Working Reel (as our team member) in Cambridge to work in larger more challenging environments, she is still a member of our advisory council and allows Working Reel to benefit from her education and experience through consultation and guidance.

Working Reel is proud to have her as part of our supporting advisory council.
